A word of encouragement at the right moment can shape how a young person sees themselves for years. But only if they remember it. Only if their parents hear about it. Only if it doesn't get lost in the noise of a busy week.
We built GoFathom to protect those moments, so the good things coaches say don't just land once, they last.
GoFathom's Mission
At fifty, you've watched enough young players drift away from sport to know something's broken.
It's rarely about talent. Often it's about feeling unseen. A child who doesn't know what they're doing well, who only remembers the corrections, who can't explain to their mum why training was good today, that child is at risk of quietly giving up.
GoFathom is my answer to that. We're building a habit. One where coaches finish a session, grab their phone, and send something meaningful home. A note. A voice message. A moment of recognition. Small actions that make young athletes feel seen, and give families something real to talk about.
I've built products for schools across 40+ countries. This one's personal.

12+ years building software that solves real communication problems in education and sport. Co-founded SchoolsBuddy, grew it to 600+ schools in 35+ countries, and exited successfully in 2019.
Spent five years coaching my son's football and cricket teams. Lived the problem from every angle - as a coach trying to make feedback stick, as a parent wondering what was actually being worked on, and as someone who's spent a career making communication simpler. Level 2 ECB cricket coach. Originally from Somerset, now based in Worthing.

Built GoFathom because I kept seeing the same problem from every angle - as a coach, as a parent, and as someone who's spent a career making communication simpler. Good feedback shouldn't disappear just because nobody wrote it down.

An award-winning cricket coach himself, Tom knows what it's like to invest in young players session after session, wanting them to improve, to enjoy the game, to stick with it. He also knows how isolating coaching can feel when you're doing brilliant work that nobody sees.
