About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how GoFathom Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, www.gofathom.app. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
This policy covers our website only. The GoFathom mobile apps and platform are covered by our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the owners of the site or to other services. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in a comparable way, and this policy covers them too.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another service, for example through content embedded in the page, are called third-party cookies.
How We Use Cookies
We keep our use of cookies to a minimum.
- We only use analytics cookies if you accept them.
- We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
- We do not sell or share information collected through cookies.
Strictly Necessary
When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we save that choice in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask you again on every page. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice, so it does not require consent.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
gf-cookie-consent |
Local storage (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies | Until you clear your browser’s storage |
Analytics (Only With Your Consent)
If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive, so we can improve it. Google Analytics does not tell us who you are. If you reject cookies, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> |
Google Analytics | Keeps track of your visit (session) | 2 years |
Google processes this data on our behalf. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. If you change your mind and reject cookies later, we remove these cookies from your browser.
Embedded Content (Only With Your Consent)
Some pages include content from other services. These services may set their own cookies when their content loads, so we only load it once you have accepted cookies.
| Service | Where it appears | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Podcasts | The podcast player on our About page | Plays the podcast episode; Apple may use cookies to operate the player | Apple Privacy Policy |
If you reject cookies, the player is not loaded, and you can listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts instead.
We do not control the cookies set by other services. Please read their privacy and cookie policies for details.
Booking a Call
Our Contact us page includes a booking form from Roam, so you can choose a time for a call with us. Because you visit that page to book, the form loads straight away, and Roam may use cookies or similar technologies that it needs to show available times and confirm your booking.
| Service | Where it appears | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roam | The booking form on our Contact us page | Shows available times and books your call | Roam Privacy Policy |
If you’d rather not use the form, you can email or call us instead; the details are on the same page.
Your Choices
When you first visit our website, we ask whether you accept cookies for analytics and embedded content. You can accept or reject them; the site works fully either way, apart from the embedded content itself.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Guidance for the most common browsers:
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy, for example if we add a new service to our website. Before we use any new non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
